PAYMENT: You will be asked for a credit card number to hold your appointment, but no charges will incur at that time. In Cotati, credit cards are used mostly; in San Rafael, debit cards/checks are preferred, when you pay for the session. After treatment you pay in full whether planning to bill your insurance for reimbursement or not.
Herbal medicine carries an extra charge, around $20 per week for a hand-mixed granulated formula specifically suited to your tongue & pulse-based Traditional Chinese Medicine pattern and modified to address your own particular symptoms.
The office policy is 24 hours notice to cancel your appointment. “No-shows” (missed appointments) incur a $75 fee charged to your credit card.

Q: Do you take insurance?
A: The way it works with insurance is, you pay in full after your session, at which time the front desk will give you a Superbill if you wish to bill insurance or your medical savings plan. Your company may want the Acupuncturist’s notes from the treatment, so a copy of these can be made for you immediately. Send the items to your insurance/medical savings company and all reimbursements shall be instructed to go to you.
Q: Will my insurance cover acupuncture?
A: Many companies do; it all depends on your plan. More and more insurance plans are offering reimbursement for acupuncture, however they might reimburse you a percentage but not the full cost of the session.
If your MD (medical doctor) has referred you to Acupuncture and ordered a certain number of sessions, it may be more likely your insurance will approve the coverage. Herbal medicine is seldom covered by insurance, but we offer highly effective tailor-made TCM formulas (created individually for you) at the general rate of $20 a week.
